Science NetLinks Review Criteria
Science NetLinks' resources support standards-based
teaching and learning, and are reviewed by scientists and educators according to the following criteria:
- Does the resource contain credible science, mathematics, or technology
(SMT) content from a credible source?
- Is the information accurate?
- Is the purpose clear?
- Is the material well organized?
- Are the processes of science clearly and accurately presented?
- Are the conclusions, if any, valid?
- Is the science content consistent with current scientific knowledge?
- Is science shown to be open to inquiry and free of dogma?
- Does the resource contain information that complements the SMT education
curriculum as informed by research projects such as Project 2061 or
the National Science Education Standards?
- Is the content compatible with the overall mission of the AAAS Directorate
for Education and Human Resources?
- Is there sufficient SMT content to make the site a useful resource
for teachers, parents, librarians, community science educators, or
other stakeholders in SMT education?
